During the span of this Heart Month, 5,760 people will die from heart disease in Canada.
In order to combat this staggering statistic, St. John Ambulance encourages all Canadians to recognize the signs and symptoms of a heart attack.
Early activation of first aid and Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) dramatically improves the odds of survival for those experiencing a heart attack. In the event of a heart attack St. John Ambulance encourages all Canadians to follow the Chain of Survival (®).
1) Immediate recognition of a cardiovascular emergency and activation of the community emergency medical services (EMS) system. Call for help quickly
2) Early CPR with an emphasis on chest compressions
3) Rapid defibrillation
4) Effective advanced life support
5) Integrated post-cardiac arrest care
St John Ambulance offers an array of courses and products designed to help save lives in the event of a cardiac emergency.
Proceeds from training and products are reinvested back into your community. When you choose St John for your product or training needs you are not only receiving industry leading training but directly giving back to the overall safety of your community.
